Departure
Morning departure from Athens. A short stop along the way for rest, coffee, snacks, and restrooms, before continuing towards Lake Tsivlou and the mountain village of Zarouchla.
Lake Tsivlou
Lake Tsivlou is located on the slopes of Mount Chelmos, at an altitude of 754 meters. The lake was formed on March 24, 1913, following a massive landslide that blocked the bed of the Krathis River, partially submerging the nearby village of Tsivlos — from which the lake takes its name.
Local tradition also refers to it as “Mavrolimni” (Black Lake), due to the destruction caused by the landslide.
Covering an area of approximately 8.3 acres and reaching a depth of around 80 meters, the lake is known for its turquoise-green waters and the majestic fir trees of Mount Chelmos surrounding it. Today, Lake Tsivlou is an important wetland ecosystem, home to diverse flora and fauna.

Zarouchla – Nymfes Estate
Continuation to Zarouchla and specifically to Nymfes Estate, located within a lush fir forest at an altitude of 1,000 meters, just 300 meters from the village.
Here you can enjoy coffee, beer, or ouzo, and choose from a variety of optional activities suitable for both children and adults, such as:
- Archery
- Horse riding
- ATV rides
- Playground facilities
You will also have the opportunity to meet the animals of the estate, including pony horses, ducks, dogs, and cats — a favorite stop for families.
Those who wish may also stroll through Zarouchla village, admire its traditional mountain architecture, and enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, or lunch in one of the local cafés and taverns.
Return
In the afternoon, departure for Athens with a short stop along the way for rest. Arrival in the evening.
